This is a pic from our morning run prior to the unprecedented action to issue a state emergency and a catastrophic fire warning for greater Sydney.
Tomorrow will a stressful time for many Australians as the temperature will be up to 37 and 20 mph winds.
We are here on holiday. The tracks for runners/walkers/cyclists are brilliant. We did the Bay run on Saturday, there were hundreds of people on the track. There are toilets and water fountains at strategic points. Plus different tracks for cyclists and runners for safety.
We have also checked out a local gym in case it gets too hot. But they are not keen for us to spend 30 minutes or so on the treadmill. They said they prefer runners to be outside
Strange to be on holiday and the main thing that needs checking out is the running facilities!!

The smell of smoke has just arrived presumably from the ne coast. We are in Balmain so relatively safe. Wind is starting to increase and apparently the danger will tomorrow at 7pm when it changes course. Our friends have a farm near Taree and are surrounded by fire.
I managed to do the bay run with a 5 min walk at either end starting at the iron bridge. I was quite chuffed with myself.
I know what you mean regarding the first thing you think about is running, every time I go away, either holiday or work, it's always has the hotel got a treadmill or is it safe to run outside.
