Feeling chicken about W4!!

Completed W3 yesterday. Should be starting W4 tomorrow but it seems like such a leap. 9 mins of running up to 16! Can't see it somehow. Anyone else found that tricky?

All your previous runs prepare you for what's next . Trust the plan, you can do it😊😊

I'll try.

Just keep your running slow and slower again if needed and remember to keep well hydrated 😊

I think we all feel like that, and then go and surprise ourselves. All you can do is try, and try to be positive about it as the mental challenge is half the battle. If you don’t complete it first time then put it down as a practice run, rest, and try again. But you’ll more than likely smash it! 😁

This program works, that's why its so popular! Dial back your speed for run 1 of the week, just to prove to your head you can do this. Your legs are ready it's only your head that's doubting. Just look at week 4 as an opportunity to see what your training has prepared you for, nothing to be chicken about (nothing to prove here) - just go out and try it, slowly. Be prepared to be amazed by yourself 😀

Week 4 is the first week where there are more runs than walking, if you have found weeks 1 to 3 OK, then as long as you take the runs on week 4 slowly, you won't have any problems with your running whatsoever.

We all did it and because of that we believe you will too. Think of us as your cheerleaders, a very special kind that cheer you best for s l o w and steady, no rush, right foot left foot repeat. Good luck

As Buddy says you are well prepared, just go slow

Week 4 was my favourite because we learned to run slower and carry on for longer

Every time there’s been a big leap like this I’ve felt exactly the same before hand and then amazed myself by doing it. I’ve just finished week 7 and even with having to take a week off twice I’ve been able to pick up where I left off. Believe in yourself, you can do it!

I felt as you do. But just like everyone else says, trust in the program.

If you're nervous, then just start out slower than normal and maybe be mentally prepared to push yourself to the end of the longer runs.

My wife is a big believer that this is 50% body and 50% mental attitude.

You can do this, you really can.

You’ll be surprised! Because of the way the 16 mins is broken down into different chunks so it’s not quite as formidable as it seemed at end of week3, I’ll be doing my 3rd run of wk 4 tomorrow and have really enjoyed the first 2 runs... it’s such a great feeling when you get to the end and you’ve done 16 mins in total!!!

Just follow everyone’s advice to pace yourself and go nice and slow. Like Laura’s said, breathe in for 4 and out for 4, and my addition to the advice is every time you walk between runs, grin like an idiot and remind yourself that 4 weeks ago you were just a walker - now your a RUNNER!!! 👏👟👟👍
