Yay! Graduated!

I’m completely chuffed with myself for being able to say I just completed w9r3! I’ve spent years thinking I couldn’t run, I’d always be out of breath after a minute and couldn’t find a sustainable pace. Discovering a structured way to build up to longer runs was an epiphany for me!

The advice and support of this community throughout the programme has been amazing, I’ve never seen so much positivity in an internet forum. Seriously, I’ve not seen a single snide remark - the internet could learn a lot from you guys.

I had a quick look back on a couple highlights from my journey:

* I started 2 months ago yesterday - I can’t believe it’s only been 2 months!

* My first 5k was a park run on w7r3 - what a great crowd!

* Fastest 5k was w9r2 at 27m 43s.

* Favourite run was when my 6 year old daughter came with me. :-D

Thanks everyone!

I was thinking about signing up for the Maidenhead 10 mile run in April. I want something achievable but challenging - no idea about the ‘achievable’ bit though.

Take a look at the pinned post What Next?

Then consolidation is the name of the game now. A couple of weeks of 30 minute runs and pop in some short ones too.. new routes, maybe a lovely long, see where you get to run.. and then..pop across to Bridge to 10K for some other great ideas:)

Well done you impetuous thing you.

In my view it is definitely best to consolidate for a few weeks and definitely pop over onto the Bridge to see how to work up to that 10 miler without too many injuries. Remember you need to build up strength and stamina gradually to avoid too much pressure on your body.

The highlights from your journey so far certainly made me smile!
