Gaps are ok

Having completed W5R1 last Monday, just about, arthritis decided to come along with a flare. So pain and fatigue kicked in to put a stop to any further runs last week. It's a new week and I still feel fatigued, but I need to get my mojo back! I've purchased a high viz running jacket and head torch to try my hand at running in the dark? I am nervous because i don't live in the safest town, but it's a busy main road nearby so that's my plan! I just need to get my motivation back up to combat the fatigue so i can carry on the progress! πŸ˜‘πŸ˜΄πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

If arthritis flaring up again talk to doc about reviewing meds after almost year off and increased activity. Active is great, just try to keep pain free and injury to minimum. Have you found the strength and flex forum with all the great links to exercises- keeping supportive muscles healthy may help reduce pressure on joints. keep happy keep running

Busy roads are your best bet, a lot of traffic fumes but brighter with the passing traffic. It does feel weird running in the dark to start with but can be so beautiful with the moon and the stars.

Just watch your footing, use paths you address familiar with so you know where to be mindful of broken pavements etc. But like the rest, have fun with it!

As Grannyhugs says consider talking to your GP to make sure you can be as pain free as poss.

I'm a big believer in natural remedies too, ginger is nature's own anti inflammatory too so maybe try adding as much fresh ginger into your diet as feasible. Last winter I was having a daily hot drink of ginger, lemon, turmeric and chilli powder with a touch of honey. Very warming all over. Not sure what other effects it had but I was healthy all winter, might need to stock up again now πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜

That sounds delicious, guess what I'll be brewing up later. Thanks πŸ˜€

I found using a little tea infuser best, that way no risk of swallowing ginger lumps! In the end I stopped putting the whole lemon wedge in as I let it brew all the way to work and the peel made it bitter so I just scraped all the fruit off and into the water. I used 1/2 tsp turmeric and started with 1/8 tsp chilli powder but the burn was good so ended up with 1/4 πŸ€ͺ a good thumbnail size chunk of ginger and just a dash of squeeze honey. Do let it stand a good while πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜
