W8R2 Complete and the knees are OK

#couchto5k Week 8 Run 2 COMPLETE πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

I got back out there and my god I feel sooooooooo much better for being out in that fresh air and getting the air into my lungs.

The knee discomfort started to go (again) as I warmed up and the stride started to increase.

I'm even more chuffed I improved on my distance as well (small bonus!). Just over 4km! (3.77km on W8R1). I know only 10% achieve 5k in 30mins (Week 9). I'm happy to be in the 90% and just being active and happy. :)

Body is lovely, warm and glowing now. Mind is clear.

If you're sat on a sofa doing no exercise, get out into this world and run. It's so good for you. Doesnt have to be competitve racing and the medals. Just do it for you. Taken me decades to realise this.

Nice one Chris, you’re on a roll and your positive attitude will get you wherever you want to go with your running! Good for you, and well done!

You’re nearly there - yay! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸƒπŸƒπŸƒ

thank you cheeky chops!! x How are you getting along? Having a snoozy sunday? :)

Yep, no running for me today. 4k tomorrow morning, then a couple of rest days before the big 10k attempt on Thursday! πŸ˜³πŸ¦‹πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸŒ

Wow. Best of luck to you. 10k that's amazing Cheeky Chops!

Thanks Chris, I’m beyond excited about it (and pretty nervous too! πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹)

Is it a 10k race or you doing 10k. Will be thinking if you.

Not a race, just me running my usual park circuit about 3 times - each loop is about 3.7k. I did 9k on Thursday, so I can now work out where my 10k finishing point will be! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

getting there.. although have some apprehension of this expectation i must go do a park run.. not even getting to 5k yet and also the idea of running with others (keeping up a pace) is putting me on edge. i have been quite happy with just me, the music, the app talking to me getting through couchto5k.. are these worries normal?

You don't have to do Parkrun. You obviously can, bubibis not obligatory. The same as you don't have to do 5K at your last run / anytime during the program. To graduate you "just" have to finish W9R3, so run at least 3 times for 30 minutes (not during one day of course).

I haven't done the Parkrun, although I start to think about it. I wasn't planning on doing 5K during my graduation run. I did it only because I knew my pace at that particular day was good and it was only few more minutes. And it was definitely a huge push from my side, and maybe even unnecessary, but it did feel good to reach another milestone. I will go for a easy and short run today, so no 30 min or 5K ;)
