Week 2 Done - looking forward to week 3

Dog and I have just finished week 2’s 3 runs 😁 Went way too fast on the first run on Monday and had throbbing aching knees for few days afterwards, so run 2 was done on Friday - very slowly and thankfully no throbbing knees, and dog and I have just done 3rd run this lovely sunny Sunday morning at a slow to moderate pace. Didn’t think I could continue the way my knees aches after first run but I’ve learned my lesson now!

Dog and I are looking forward to starting week 3 on tuesday👍

Excellent.. you are learning to pace yourself. You can never run too slowly & you will will build up both fitness and stamina that way. 👍

Thanks Annieapple, all advice greatfully received!👍

Congratulations on completing week 2! It is an amazing program and you’ve probably already noticed the health benefits. But you’re right; slow and steady is the key to success and to avoid injury. I don’t think I started to go faster until week 7 when I’d built up a bit of stamina. You’ll be fine 👍🏼 Good luck for week 3!

Well done for getting out there. Beautiful day for it.

I found that taking two rest days between weeks 1 and 2 was a massive help.

I plan to do the same after Wk2 R3 which is tomorrow

That’s an idea, still running in bog-standard supermarket leggings so maybe time to invest in more proper kit. Thanks Pete1212👍

Hi Pete1212 - great advice re. Investing in proper running tights, got pair yesterday and did r2w3 this morning, felt like a proper runner and no aching legs afterwards! Way more comfortable than tuning in bog standard supermarket legging👍
