Still going strong although felt the pain tonight though. Looked through week 5 and 6 runs and can’t believe how much things change!!!! Does it get easier because I can’t see how I’m going to adapt to these extended runs so quickly. 😳
Week 4 run 3: Still going strong although felt... - Couch to 5K
Week 4 run 3
Don't worry about those longer runs, trust the program, in fact it's better not to look ahead, just wait for the instructions from your coach. 😊 🏃🏾
Trust the plan, believe in yourself.
This breakdown of W5 might help put it into perspective healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
You can do this.
Yes it does, but saying that, I haven’t found any of my runs (so far) easy! If I were to go out by myself and take it slow, I’d find it easy. I’ve been going out with a club or doing park runs, all of which require me to challenge myself. I am looking forward to a leisurely run one day though 😂. Trust in the programme. You won’t feel like you’re improving because each week is more taxing than the last, but I promise you will be.
This sounds great, but watch out for injury if you’re pushing yourself hard on every run. Aches are normal as your body learns but they should go away by the time of the next run. And pains are Not Good, so they are a big indicator to slow down. The Injury Couch is not fun.... Happy running. 😊
I would agree with others.....just trust in the programme....reading here gives you lots of ‘evidence’ it works and is enjoyable 😍 For me I find not ‘reading up’ on the forthcoming weeks better but I know everyone s different. Well done on how far you have come. Cx
I feel exactly the same, I did week 5 run 1 tonight in the pouring rain! It was ok however I'm nervous about run 3 as its 20 mins straight through and I've never run that time before. I rely heavily on the walky bits to get my breath back 😂! The programme is good, I'm not a natural runner and I feel like my stamina has come on leaps and bounds by following the programme. Keep going! As Michael Johnson says...'You can do it!'😂👍
I think many of us felt like you but you can do this. I found each week a challenge and was riddled with self doubt. The sense of acheivement as you tick off each run is worth every ounce of effort.
As others have said trust the program and just take it nice and slow.
Now lace up them shoes and get out there and don't forget to tell us how you get on 🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♀️
Firstly make sure you're not pushing yourself too hard... slow down. Don't forget the guide... you should be running at a conversational pace (or as close to as you can manage).
Think tortoise and hare, you're not learning to sprint, you're learning endurance and stamina.
Don't overthink what's coming up just do each run as it comes. You can do it 👍🏻😁
