Usually I love these warm winds that blow away the cold for a few days in Canada. However I found running a very different story today. I hardly managed 3K in 30 mins. After an exhilarating -2run on Wed to run in 11deg today felt like a desert π΅ runπ€£

Ha ha 11 degrees eh? temperature changes must affect running, bet itβs still beautiful Annie enjoy it
After the temperature is around freezing for a couple of weeks, then running in +11C temperatures that will feel very tropical and warm as you say, hopefully the temperature will soon get back to 0C, better for running. π ππΎ
Yeah but you kept going!
Gotta love the excitement of the changing weather when you're running
Hey Annie! ππ½ππ½! No harm in making a few little adjustments, so that you enjoy your run. Well done! πβ€οΈ
Hello Annieapple how are you hope you're having a lovely time in Canada. Such a different run for you today but it was still a run . πππ
Not sure whatβs worse, heat or the continuous mucky downpour that we seem to have here in UK at the mo βοΈπ§
The temperature can make, all the difference...you got out there and you ran...well done...bet you are loving the different surroundings.
Enjoy your time there and every single run !!! Brrr 11 degrees looks cold to me !!! Today i run at 17 i was feeling cold i really miss the 21!!!
Whatever the temperature, it must be so beautiful. Iβve never been to Canada. Itβs on my long list. I need full details of what you wore in 0 degrees. By the time Iβm off the IC, I expect it to be around that here. Whatβs the altitude Annie? Is that affecting your running? Have a wonderful time with your family. X
After running at the coast the higher altitude does make the run feel a bit heavier (jet lag too, but thatβs over now) but keeping the hydration going which is helpful.
I mostly run in my long sleeve base layers, adding jacket & beanie when itβs below zero. I have fingerless mittens but havenβt used them on a run yet. Snow on the mountains but not on the ground & no ice yet. All change next week π€£ I find it helpful to do an extended warm up in the house before going out.
Ah you doing a spot of resistance training there? The main thing is you got out and 3kbis tgecdistance fir the shirt day on week 2 of b210k you're ahead of meπ
I hope you're enjoying your holiday of mixed bag weather π. I imagine you had similar winds that we had yesterday in SW Saskatchewan. I'm glad I got out in the morning before the winds really hit (we were in a wind warning with winds possibly reaching 100kph overnight) but we got to a high of 20 C by late afternoon to wake up to -5, feeling like -13 C this morning. I missed a run this week due to an unscheduled medical procedure and thought I'd deke out for a quick easy run today to make up for it but not in that wind! Hopefully it dies down a bit tomorrow and I can sneak out for a nice easy run. I used to live just North of Calgary and really miss heading into Canmore, Banff or Lake Louise for a quick daytrip of hiking, skiing, or sightseeing but don't miss the mid winter Chinook's wreaking havoc with icy roads and causing some nasty migraines with the pressure changes. It is beautiful country though and can't wait to head there in June for a HM. Enjoy your stay and try not to blow away π π¨π¦ππ¨
Thanks for this great post. Yes we love all those places and heading into the Rockies next weekend...hot springs here we come!! Love them!
