I still find it hard to believe how much I enjoy this running malarkey! Never in a million years did I see myself getting up on a Saturday morning to go to Parkrun and being excited that I was giving something back by being the 'tail walker'.
My consolidation run at the weekend I changed it up a little bit and played around with speed. I only ran for 3km but I pushed myself for the first 1km then slowed things down again for the next and pushed harder for the last. I am never going to break any land speed records however I can feel that my legs are stronger and my lungs are coping much better with the increase in speed.
Tonight I have a running buddy, she goes quite a bit slower than me at her steady pace so I am going to run slow and we are doing a route that is 5.6km so including warm up and cool down it should be a good one
Oh and I just took delivery of my higher state hi vis running jacket so excited to try that out

Brilliant that youre enjoying it so much tiggs1 ...and volunteering at parkrun is a really good thing to do...it's always a good feeling when you feel like youre giving something back isn't it? Slowing down sounds like just the ticket that worked for you, after all, you don't need to break any land speed records, you're run is far more enjoyable when it's run at your pace...and who actually are we getting excited at new running gear??!!!! Who'd have thought it???!!! 😄
