I pinched this idea from FB this morning, but it was so inspirational to read the reasons that were posted. So, please share - why do YOU run?
ME? I run to improve my health and fitness, but also to explore new areas in my neighbourhood, clear my mind and feel virtuous for the rest of the day!

Thanks so much for sharing Susojan!! π π€ A perfect one for me today.
I run to clear my head, continue to feel amazed at what I can do, notice the beautiful things around me that I donβt normally see and feel both alive and free.
And......now Iβm ready to get out there!! ππ€ππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈβ€οΈ
I run because I canβt. Hehe, I know I can but in my mind I am still the worst runner in the world so every time I come back from a run it is like the best sense of achievement ever and after 6 years I still feel it after every run π.
Although I've played squash once or twice a week for the last 35+ years, I've never been at all sporty, and consider myself to be the least fittest of my squash playing mates. I'd tried running before but had some sort of mental bloke meaning I'd have to stop after only a few steps because I was out of breath & feeling ill. So, initially I started C25K to overcome m y inner demons, cure myself of this (silly)phobia (I don't know where it came from) and with the added bonus of getting healthier, fitter, and to lose a bit of weight if possible. I've only just started Week 3, and admit I'm not finding it easy, but the feelings of accomplishment & well-being are fantastic, so adding those to my additional aims (which I am slowly achieving) is what gets me up an hour early three times a week without question, to go out for a run.
I started after seeing a tv report about Parkrun. Iβm 59, overweight and not very fit, so decided to do C25K to train to be able to do PR. Iβve never run before and didnβt think I would enjoy it. How wrong was I! Apart from being a bit daunted at the beginning of each new week, Iβm thoroughly enjoying it. Long may it last π
I run because it gives me an increased feeling of wellbeing, so I can still get up the hills in the Lake District without expiring in the attempt ππ, so I can eat bagels and not put on weight, because Mr E ( a gazelle of many decades) is astonished/ impressed/ cheers me on, and ...because, much to my surprise, I enjoy it regardless of my plodding π snailyness!! π
