Run, rest, sneeze, cough, repeat....

Good evening my lovely running family....this week has been cold week for me....if I get a cold it’s always in October...if I don’t get one in October I won’t get one, but this year it has come early on....I have coughed and sneezed all week and for someone with asthma the wheezing has been never ending,,.so, needless to say, this has dominated my runs this week....I ran a 10k on Monday but nothing since....until this morning, Daddycav said he had to go fit a part on a boiler so I couldn’t resist the chance of a lift so I could run home from there...I decided on a 1/4 mile interval run seeing as I’d done that 10k on Monday and my already struggling asthmatic lungs were working overtime...at least with an interval run, as hard as it is, I could use the 1 min 30 secs to get my breath back...so that’s what I did....and to add to this I was taking my new trex titanium headphones out on their first journey and I have to say that they are brilliant and worth every penny! I could hear everything and the sound quality is excellent...I would definitely recommend them.

So I’m looking forward to another new week of running...I have loved reading your posts this week...I’m sorry if I’ve been a bit here and there but this cold has proper knocked me out...I am back on it now though so here’s to a new week of runderful running xx

True grit there gal - running with a cold... I had a summer cold and turned out to be a right wuss with it, really affected my breathing and I don’t even have asthma. You’ve got more steel than you give yourself credit for 💪

I like the sound of your headphones... will investigate these as still using iPhone ones!! 😂🙄 all wireless ones I’ve tried have been pants so far xx

Go Mummycav! 🤩 You’ve done a brilliant job running a 10k with a cold. 😍 I find that intervals are a good way to get out and keep going. You certainly did that! Well done you! Glad you’re feeling much better. Happy running next week. 🤗❤️

So sorry you've not been feeling your best... I didn't know you had asthma too... I sometimes think it's my lungs that stop me from running better (tho at the moment I can't blame them as it is my legs, or rather my apathy in the face of this rainy weather that has me at home & running gear still all in drawer... ) Feel better soon x

Hi SuzyKK ...good to hear from you!! Yes, I have asthma...I have developed it since I started running, but I try not to let it hinder my outings, although asa the weather gets colder I can't help but notice how wheezy my breathing becomes while I'm out running...I agree this has got to make a difference to our runs but I just run however far I can, I try not to focus on it though otherwise I wouldn't run anywhere. Why not try a little run when the sun is shining?? I'm sure you'll remember how much you love running...and running in the rain, as long as it's not torrential, can feel quite liberating? x

I'm assuming you use an inhaler... if not get to a Dr & get one! No I don't let the asthma get to me, mine started when I was in my late 20s (long, long ago!) & sadly does just get worse... I'd actually hoped that running would help, but it hasn't... I will be running in rain... Just that I 'd just gone back to C25K & got to week 4 & then went to corfu which is all hills, so stopped for 2 weeks... Will start again at wk3, but honestly need a mild day to get my mojo back up... You know how it is ;-)

Hope you're feeling better now xxx
