Hi, all just starting the program with the app, what do people suggest for headphones whilst running?

I bought some bluetooth ones that a friend suggested but they were not comfortable and kept falling out?

Also I downloaded the app on my phone (albeit an old phone) but the app kept hanging so couldn't really use it. Any suggestions for a good phone which I can use whilst running?

I use my huawei mate p20 Pro (although other phones are available! And pretty much any android phone would do the same job) I use the tabata app to do the timings because all other apps crashed while running and it was horrendous, but this one seems to work and is infinitely customisable. I also use Google play music (which I pay for so thar I can download tracks, but if you have good mobile connection then you could probably stream it via mobile connection for free) and the free endomondo app to track my runs. They all work at the same time and do exactly what I need. My Bluetooth headphones were expensive and fell out of my ears every couple of minutes, so I went down to asda and spent a whole £7 on a pair of wired inside ear phones that have the hooks that go over the top of your ears. If I could go back I would have bought the Bluetooth versions as then I wouldn't have a wire slapping me in the face and being awkward!! But instead I just tuck it under my top. Hope that helps!

A low-cost alternative is to buy an mp3 player - like iPod Shuffle etc - on ebay. Expect to pay about £20, and then run to the podcasts. These are podcasts, and so contain the voice prompts AND music selected for beat/tempo/inspiration. The music is an eclectic mix, but the great benefit is that there is nothing to go wrong - no app crashes, no battery running out etc. I do recommend running with your phone in a pocket - in case of emergencies - but an mp3 player is a lost-cost alternative to a new phone.

I use Samsung Galaxy buds, they work well, but I'm not confident they wouldn't fall out without a headband over them.

For me not a problem as without a headband ( winter or summer) my hair would be a major problem!!!

Aftershokz bone conductor titanium. The only type approved by Uk athletics. You can tear everything around you as they don’t go in your ears
