My phone is smashed so can't use the app!

New to the forum and pretty new to Couch to 5K. I just ran Week 3, run 1 today. It went well but with the slight complication that I had to use a watch and a notebook to keep track of my runs and walks because my phone broke two days ago and may take weeks to get back! Are you all running with the app on a phone? Any other clever ideas what I could do? Can't think of many but as the weeks go it should be easier shouldn't it with less switching between walking and running. I miss the cherrful voice but I try to pretend she is there cheering me on....

Do you have an mp3 player? You could download the podcasts to it.

I used a small kitchen timer after the first week. Worked extremely well for me. :)

But how do you keep track of how many walks and runs you have done and how long you should do them?

Marked off each run day on a calendar, and kept the run/walk segments count in my head when running. It did get a tiny bit more complex by the end of the programme when the times differed - so to keep track of the "second" time I bought a second timer :)

Sounds a lot more complicated and confusing than it actually is but I never had a problem, and much preferred it to lugging my housebrick of a phone around :)

Very impressed that you haven't let this put you off and that you're running through it! I think I'd download the podcasts if you can get hold of an mp3 player. Either way, flippin well done.

Thanks BexJogs. It certainly did annoy me but I thought I'd done so well and we've just gone to this beautiful place where I can run on a sandy path around a lake. It is almost perfect.
