One of those runs 😊

I don’t post often but believe me this forum is one of my favourite places. Whilst training for a 10k this October I overdid it and have struggled for three months with PF. Eventually I saw a brilliant podiatrist and brilliant sports massage therapist and I have tentatively started running again. Tonight I managed a 5k in 32 minutes, I will never crack 30 but it felt like I was back in the game. Nice pace, cool temperature and the last of the bright sunshine. Glowing inside and out - so happy. Only you lot will get this, hence the post! Xx

Nice run for you, who knows, like me with around a similar time for a 5k we might get a sub 30 minute 5k soon 😊🏃

Thanks Al, I’ve seen you’re making great progress with your runs! I don’t think I’ll ever get sub 30, I’m a happy plodder but tonight I was a very happy plodder 😊 best of luck with your next run 🏃‍♂️

My next run will be my 7th parkrun on Saturday morning, not expecting a PB, probably around the 32/34 minutes time, however, if like recent runs I can follow some runner going a fraction faster than me I may be able to keep at that pace 😊🏃

I thought I’d cracked it at PR when I saw a runner wearing a sub 30 vest. When I got nearer I realised it said said sub 33 😂😂😂

That’s brilliant - bet it feels amazing to be back up to 5k after injury! Gorgeous day for it too!

Thanks so much! It was just one of those runs when it all felt natural. I could have carried on but I’m being sensible. Loving these cooler temperatures and it was a beautiful early evening. Life is good ❤️

I think injury makes me appreciate what I can do more, and certainly I’ve needed to learn patience and holding back!

Absolutely. It’s only you lovely people on here that get it. I literally see people’s eyes glaze over when I try to bring running into conversations 😂😂😂

Park Run took me to sub 30. If you want to do it you will get there. 32 is probably only a run or two away from sub 30 if you really want to do it. Whatever, just enjoy yourself, you are doing just fine,👏👏👏😊

Wow well done and thank you! I graduated in June 18 but the sub 30 is elusive. I honestly don’t mind, I’m just happy that I’ve discovered running/plodding can be enjoyable and so good for us in so many ways 😊

That’s really good news and a great come back! I haven’t cracked 5k in 30 yet but I don’t mind, as long as the run is enjoyable that’s all that matters. Many more happy run wishes to you

Well I’ve had a couple of shorter runs but I feel 5k gives me something solid to work on. Thanks so much for your lovely message! Happy running to you too
