Week 4, Run 1

I’m starting week 4 tomorrow (slightly before the crack of dawn). I have to say I’m a little anxious, the running has suddenly doubled! I found week 3 pretty comfortable but am I going to find week 4 suddenly tough? I don’t want it to be so difficult it puts me off....

Thanks.

Hi 👋🏻I did W4 R1 this morning! It was easier than I imagined it would be! Just keep it super slow and you’ll be fine 👍🏼 Good luck x

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes advice on pacing.....if you are struggling, slow down.

I would recommend that you read this post about mental approach also healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Relax, slow down and enjoy the journey.

I literally just started week 4 this evening! I was a bit nervous going into it, but I managed to do the whole thing. I just slowed right down - I didn’t want to give myself an excuse to stop! Just really pace yourself. If you do find it too hard in the end, just do a couple more week 3s before trying again. :)

Thanks for the motivation guys, it really wasn’t too bad! Embarrassingly I ran out of route so had to start zigzagging up and down streets next to my house so I could finish properly! I needed about an extra kilometre more than W3R3.

Well done. It's a great sign when you start to run out of road!
