Week 5 anxiety!

How am I going to do run 3?! Completed run 1 today in the rain and the headwind made it really tough. It just seems impossible to run for 8 minutes let alone 20 minutes!

On the plus, I bought some proper running trainers so no longer out in my converse and it’s like running on a cloud (until my legs get tired)!

If you've done it all to this point you will manage run 3. Dont stress between now and then, go with the flow. Take it slow if you need to but everything you've done till now is working towards the next run. Enjoy

Trust the program, go slow and don't be afraid to slow down even more :) W5R3 made me cry when I realised I was actually going to make the full 20 minutes as I never believed that I could.

Here's a full breakdown of week 5 and explains why you really can do it...healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

However, believe us all when we say, we've been there, we didn't believe either, but we made it and it's just the best feeling ever, so don't put it off or get too wound up, just get out there and do it, just like all the rest, take it steady and you'll be absolutely fine 👍🏻

Look at the post before yours.

Nobody thinks they will do it....... everybody does........ sometimes not first time, but that doesn't matter. Every run is training for the next one.

Read this breakdown of W5 and relax healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You can do this.

All the previous runs prepare you for what's next. You can do it. Good luck 😊

It’s a mental test more than a physical test. I did it last week, started at a slower pace than I usually would and gradually built up a bit faster every few mins. The app will tell you when each 5 mins has passed and you go from thinking ‘I’m not going to manage this’ during the first few mins to ‘I’m actually going to do this... and it’s easier than I anticipated!’ In the last 5 mins.

The sense of achievement will spur you on, however the first two runs of week 6 are back to intervals again. I did run w6r1 yesterday and found it challenging to get a steady rhythm. Made the mistake of running at a faster pace because of the shorter durations and it stung on the last 5 mins.
