I first graduated earlier on in the year jan/Feb time then stopped and started again. I completed W6R2 last Sunday and woke up Monday morning not being able to walk with Achilles tendinitis. I rested all week and went back to W5 R1 this morning and wasn’t able to run for 5 mins without pain. I stopped and walked home Guttered. How long will I have to rest for?

Hi! So sorry to hear you are in pain. We can't give medical advice on here - it is much better if you seek the advice of a GP who can see you and assess your particular problem.

But speaking generally, you should not run if it is too painful; you are best off resting until it hurts less. But try to keep your legs moving if you can - walking is good if it doesn't hurt.

Best of luck, and keep us posted xxx

Thank you. Yes I’m going to definitely walk instead for the time being. Going away on 6th Oct so don’t want to be in pain then as will be walking a lot while away. See how I go on after resting for two weeks then get back on it very slowly when I get back home xx

Your Achilles tendon can take a long time to heal, so I would recommend getting professional medical advice on the actual damage and try to analyse what has caused it.

Take care.
