I have Achilles Tendinitis on my feet for the past 4 weeks - the left more than the right. The recovery is slow as at present I am still getting tenderness in my left foot.
When can I get start running training again? And what programme to start?
My last run was W8D3 about 3 months ago. I really want to continue my running training but just not sure when and where. Any suggestions welcome

Self diagnosis as limited doctors appointment were available for only urgent cases during Christmas/new year period. Now back at work and don’t find the time to see doctor. Definitely will take your suggestions on board. Thank you
I finished w9r1 when I developed extensor tendonitis in my left foot last June and couldn’t graduate. It can take several weeks to heal. I’m afraid you are going to have to be patient. I tried restarting in September but it was too soon. I began again last week and completed w2r2 this morning. So far so good. Can you do some strength training / stretching while you wait to heal? I do Pilates and yoga and managed to keep it going through my recovery. Make sure you can complete some long walks comfortably before you contemplate a run. Good luck.
I've had Achilles tendonitis for about 7 years, periods of on and off sever pain. Are you stretching them out? It's a chore but important. I've been religiously stretching since I've been doing c25k.. not much more you can do tbh.
Hope it heals enough for you to get back on the track x
Hi, I’m just recovering from Achilles tendinitis. You say the pain is in your foot - are you sure it’s tendinitis, as then the pain would be on and above your heel, at the back of your ankle joint. I was given some exercises to do by my GP, but after a few weeks and nothing really improving I asked them to refer me for physio which has helped so much I’m able to start running again, albeit only twice a week with at least 2 rest days in between. I’m still doing the exercises given by the GP which were ok’ed by the physio, and will keep doing them probably forever! I was out for around 6 weeks altogether. Hope yours eases soon 😁
Yes, sounds like it. I’d try and see a doc if you can. In the meantime you could do some eccentric heel drops which seems to be the most effective exercise. There’s plenty of info on google about them 😁
