What about Parkrun? They are weekly 5km events, held on Saturday at 9am England and Wales, 9.30 Scotland. All run by volunteers Google Parkrun to find your local. (Parkrun is also held in other countries).
You could run in the week as usual and either run/walk or volunteer on Saturday. By doing this regularly you may hear about other local events and/or meet people like you.
Try 30 x 30 in October 30 days with 30mins min exercise a day. Run 3 do other things on the other 4?? I will be doing it. One day bike one day core two days resistance like weights and bands. I am also doing sober for October.
