Yippeee! Week 9 run 3 completed, I really can’t believe it, I even managed another 3mins to hit the 5k. However, I’m not posting here to congratulate myself, I am posting to say to everyone who is thinking of doing C25K or to those who are just starting, that you really can do this. Personally, I turned 50 this year so decided it was now or never to do something to improve my fitness. Running seemed like the obvious choice as I work away from home a lot, so I wanted something I could do anywhere. However for me running was a big challenge as the last time I ran was in secondary school and worst than that I have spent my whole life telling myself I couldn’t run!
Yes the first couple of weeks were painful and yes I almost gave up when I looked at the “impossible” runs in weeks 8 and 9, but here I am. Yes some runs are really hard, but during those hard runs just keep reminding yourself why you are running, then just keep putting one foot in front of the other. It really is worth it, I feel a lot fitter and healthier than I did, I also feel a lot more relaxed and less stressed than I have for a long, long time.
Thanks to everyone for posting advice here as it’s been great to read.
Remember just keep putting one foot in front of the other.....you can do this !
