I was going to have a beer just now but decided I couldn't be bothered and had tea instead (how exciting).
Does anyone have a Saturday night tipple?

No, just a few cuppas for me, unless I am desperate for a drink, am eating out or have dinner guests.
You can't beat a cup of tea really.
Now for me it's water followed by a cup of decafe tea or 3 ginger tea. During the daytime it has to be a cup of mocha, I have to admit I have my own coffee machine😉
Well I just had a cup of decaf tea and earlier I had a ginger tea..
I like a capuchino during the day.
😉
Well we do have similar tastes 😀
It looks like we do 😀
I’ve done 3ltrs of water today after my parkrun and my tipple tonight while the other half has a rum is a mint choc milkshake made with no added sugar coconut milk
Sounds really nice tiggs..
I had a weak lager shandy and felt as pissed as a newt 🤣🤣🤣🤣 back on decaf tea and water now!
That didnt take much! lol
I very, very, rarely drink these days. Only takes a spoonful! I was celebrating my 3rd marathon distance though so wanted to try! 🤣
Im the same, i cant be bothered with drinking these days, im not sure id manage a pint.
3RD marathon distance, congratulations.
Water for me. I don’t drink much alcohol. I’m doing W8R3 tomorrow and I like a clear head for my runs 🏃🏽♀️
Well you dont want a repeat of the bacon sarnie scandal do you lol
😂 just weetabix tomorrow! 🙈
Thats more like it lol
I was going to have a few beers, but decided that depending how my ankle feels tomorrow morning that I might go for a run so have abstained - how things change. I ran past a brewery open day on a run a few weeks back!!
I was at the fridge about to lift a beer out and changed my mind...
Is it an age thing?
How did you manage to run past the brewery lol
A decent single malt Scotch whisky, usually a Dalmore or Glenmorangie (hence the “name”!) but also keen on Welsh whisky....yes it does exist and is called Penderyn 🥃🏴🏴🏃♂️
I didn't know about the Welsh whisky, very interesting.
Just seen your other posts re being from Belfast - very keen on Irish whiskey too and aside from the superb Bushmills (Black Bush sent me on my 🥃 journey many years ago!), there’s a new-ish (well revitalised) NI whiskey called Dunvilles....well worth checking out!
Have been to Bushmills many a times I'll have to look out for Dunvilles, thanks for that. 😊
Ooo nice to know someone enjoys Penderyn! I’m not a fan of whiskey myself - I have tried it inc Penderyn. Just curious - how did you find out about it??
My Dad had been on holiday to Anglesey and told me about it. I then sampled a few and have had two bottles since then. It’s excellent and I’d put it up there in my top five.
Ah ok, as I live in Wales it’s nice to know imo 🙂
Penderyn is Mid Walesish (top of Brecon Beacons area if I remember) so as I’m in the South it’s not too far from me - glad you enjoy it and thank you for choosing it 🙂 x
👍🏴🥃 I’ve a mate in Cardiff and we keep talking about arranging a distillery tour! He’s a 10K regular and prepping for a half marathon so I could match him on the 🥃 but not the 🏃♂️! 🤣😂
That’ll be nice for you both - hope you manage it!
Is he doing the Cardiff 1/2 then by any chance? (I’m still working towards 5k non-stop myself but despite a few niggles/‘injuries’ I’m determined to hit 5k) 🙂 x
Don’t know but will ask. Good for you re non stop 5k 👍. Did my 3rd Parkrun yesterday but only just back from holiday (fortnight of idleness, pasta and Peroni in Italy) so it was hard work!
My alcohol tolerance has really dropped since I started running. My Irish ancestors are probably rubbing my name off the family tree (just joking, but my dad's family do seem to have an amazingly high alcohol tolerance for non regular drinkers).
So now Saturday night is mostly water, or a coke zero if I'm feeling adventurous
Well I'm Northern Irish and you could be right about the tolerance thing. Over here we drink Potin which is as strong a drink as you can get but it doesn't seem to get the better of us.
My dad was born and bred in Dublin, one of 7 children and none of them seem to drink anything other than socially (they are all in their 80s) but they can put it away for births, deaths and mariages lol
The best parties over here are at funerals, it's like a drinking free for all 😅
I was born in our capital city, Belfast. My relatives in Belfast seem to manage the booze better than me, maybe they practice more.
I usually drink decaf coffee - hate plain water so when running I drink flavoured water (no added sugar). For years I’ve rarely added sugar to drinks only sticking to whatever is already in food/drink.
I’ve never been a big drinker though I have had a few hangovers (honestly not intended - personally I don’t understand how it can be considered a good night if you’re suffering the next day), but I like beer and wine (mainly red) the most.
I only ever got one hangover and it was the first time I ever got drunk too. No matter how much I drink on a night the next day I'm feeling good.
I don't drink often these days I think I have just drifted away from it without thinking about it.
I like beer and a glass of red on occasion too.
Yeah, a bottle of wine at home easily lasts me a few weeks, and if I have a beer I take my time - most of the time I think I fancy a drink and by the time I’ve gone to fetch one I’ve realised I don’t really want a drink - I’ve been the same even before running, so think it’s the way I am 🙂 x
I'm the same, I went to the fridge for a beer last night, but when I looked at the bottles I closed the door and didn't bother.
I can take it or leave it these days.
Gin (Bombay) and fever tree tonic for me, with a slice of lime for the fruit 😁
But tbh I very rarely drink these days.
Sounds nice, I like an occasional gin. 😊
I am nearing the end of a dry September, that may become a dry October, so a bit boring, but it's Yorkshire tea, or water for me.
I did just treat myself to a Tassimo My Way, I reckon I have saved enough on alcohol to justify the cost (not just September, I have had a few dry months so far this year 🤣)
I do enjoy a good G and T though !
I have had a few dry months too, in fact I have only had about to drinks this year, now that is boring 😅
A G and T can be very refreshing.
Most nights now I don't drink at all. Water and tea here too! I found when I was doing C25K that I didn't want to drink the evening before as I knew it would affect the run, and I would forget the other nights until about 10 and then it was too late! It's just carried on and now alcohol isn't really a part of my life at all, and I don't miss it.
That said, I do indulge sometimes. And I do enjoy those occasions 😊
Maybe the running has made us all think differently.. 😁
Tea all day long for me (including Saturday night☕️)
I think I get cravings for tea these days.
I had a pear drop gin and tonic🍹Sooo good 🤤
Pear drop gin does sound good 🤤
Had red wine and curry last night and an interesting run this morning. I will Be abstaining from now on or I won’t get to graduate 👨🎓😂
Dare we ask how interesting it was 😅
Not anymore as I'm a good girl (swot!) and I do my long run on a Sunday morning 👍
Do sometimes have a couple on a Friday night though as Saturday is a run free day...we're runners, not saints 😉🥂
Runners not saints, I like that 😅
A friend gave me a very good bottle of wine so I had a couple of glasses last night which is very unusual for me. I really enjoyed it I have to say! But it remains occasional
It's nice to have a glass or two every so often..
I had apple juice as a special treat tonight during dinner with friends. Normally I have water, tea or milkshake is another treat 😊
No rum? 😉
Mmmm oh, seems that maybe I'm one of a tiny minority as I have continued to drink a large glass of red wine on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, as weekends are not usual run days for me. Having said that I abstained Friday night as I was running early doors Saturday, no big deal I just had another large flavoured sparkling water and felt virtuous as husband had a couple of beers 😉.
Fair play to you, how large is your glass? 😋
250ml for 1 large glass 🍷 but I should add I'm a newbie to all this joffling 🐌malarky, just started W7 today, so I may end up backing off ... I can, for eg see my Friday night glass going!
Joffling, what's that then? 🤔 😉
Hybrid of jogging & shuffling 😂😜 (from the pinned post i think) it's a good description of what I do! 😉
Very good 😂 😂
