14K on the bike and a 6K "power walk" today... The ankle is feeling stronger every day and hasn't been giving me any trouble on the walks or the rides so I'm encouraged by that. It's still not 100% (still some swelling and aching post activity) but I can see a day very soon when some walk/run intervals might be possible... the swelling might stick around for a while but the pain is going away slowly... great news! No discomfort on that pretty "determined" walking pace! The only ankle twinge I got was in my OTHER ankle! Darn bodies!
The Kingston Run Challenge awaits on 12th October... I'm determined to remain disciplined enough to be fit for it... Physio and chiro on Thursday night, new fancy insoles are on the way and I'm itching for at least a trial run soon... Patience though is what is required right now...
Happy running all - and hope all of you at Parkrun this morning had some PBs!
Bodies are definitely weird. My body aches in strange places at strange times for no apparent reason. some days I can barely walk without considerable aching and stairs are a slow affair, and some days I feel absolutely fine. It doesn't seem to make any difference whether it's a run day or a stepper day or a rowing machine day or a duvet day, I always seem to have an odd pain somewhere, but usually on my left side. I've no idea if it's MS related, and as I can't get a referral to a neurologist, I'll probably never know! I suspect, though, that it may just be one of the joyous symptoms of getting ... ahem ... a little older. I have a significant birthday looming in a few months so perhaps it's all psychosomatic!!! Keep up the non-running exercise like this, and you'll be running again in no time.
Well done Aussie! Glad to hear that the ankle is improving and that you are managing to be patient and let it heal. Still getting loads of exercise by the sound of it!
