Had a great run yesterday W7r3 but during the 5 minute cool down my right knee began to ache especially behind the knee. Feels tender today so wearing a support (I wear a support whilst running too). Had slight knee discomfort during the first couple of weeks, but it stopped and all has been fine until now. Due to start week 8 tomorrow but how it feels at the present, not certain I will be π€¦πΌββοΈ. Any advice greatly received.

Knee Advice needed
π«Sorry to hear this & am sure all those who have had knee hassles will respond! Your gut instinct to take an extra rest day or two may be right! Not sure where you are with pace but would slowing it down help you??
Hope you get some expert advice either here or from a physio if necessary!
As your knee is still aching maybe take and extra rest day . I would normally say get some knee supports but you already have which is good . ππ
My physio told me that a hell of a lot goes on behind the knee, so there could be a number of causes of your problem. My pain was caused by the bone being unable to move properly in the joint because the tissue around it had really tightened up. She fixed it in one session, but thinking about it still brings tears to my eyes! I think judging whether a rest will fix it without going to a physio is more art than science I am afraid! If something hangs around for a while or keeps apparently clearing up but then comes back, it is physio time in my book.
Took your advice and went to the physio. I too have a patella that was stuck in the wrong place. It now has been sorted, although still a little tender, will plan to start back to C25K when the swelling has subsided. Probably go back a couple of weeks to ease back into running, but glad you made me think about seeing a physio, thanks some really good advice πππ»ββοΈπ€πΌ
That's a really fantastic result! π€π» the swelling goes down fast! π
Just need to get my confidence back as well, feeling a little cautious π€¦ββοΈ
