Knee Strain any advice?

I have been doing ok up to last week when I was on W3R3 of Couch25K and strained my left knee just below the knee cap on the inside leg. It’s been five days and I have been putting an ice pack on it and have a support on. Any advice on how to help recovery it’s still painful to stand on and going upstairs is a challenge, thanks Jon

If it is not improving significantly then do go and get it checked out..a Sports Physio would be your best bet... I would suggest the Knee exercises we use, but as we are not experts, and it has been five days, with pain still present. I think you should go and see what is going on ...the exercises may cause more damage.

Thanks Oldfloss was starting to think a trip to the doctors maybe required. 🙁

I would agree... you have rested and iced etc.. time to get someone in who may be able to help. I feel sure it will resolve... just hope you can get an appointment... !

Thanks, yes not the best time of year and normally there is a long wait for a physio.

Physio would also be my advice... sounds like runners knee, but a professional opinion is needed to be sure. A physio may also be able to see a cause of the pain in your gait, and help you prevent recurrences.

Got a doctor’s appointment this afternoon, so fingers crossed.
