W7R1 ... Back where I left it

A late run after work and W7R1 is complete.

I'm now back to the point I was when my running tailed off in March. I'm determined to do another Parkrun on Saturday, so I'm pretty confident I'll get to the end of week 7 this time, but I'm back on Nightshift next week so I'm a bit nervous week 8 might take a hit.

Any other shift workers out there got tips on when best to run when you've been awake all night and just want to sleep all day?? I really don't want to lose momentum again.

Wow I just completed same run! Can you try running when you wake up before going on shift? That way your body is rested. However you won’t lose any fitness for two weeks so you will easily slip into W8 after your shift but be helpful to try and fit one or two runs in to keep momentum going!

I'm going to try.

There were a couple of occasions last time around when I would go to work an hour early and run a route around the industrial estate. It does help get the blood flowing and keep me awake through the night.

As Annieapple says, try running before you go to work, I used to run in the evening, 9pm without fail his time around I've done the C25K by running in the morning, normally 6am, what a difference it makes to your day!

When I ran in the evening I'd be buzzing and didn't want to go to sleep, not good if I had an early start the next day! Running in a morning sets me up for the day, I'm more awake, more alive and full of beans.

I'd love to run before work but I just struggle with the discipline of getting up earlier than I have to. It does sound good though, maybe I just need to suck it up and be more disciplined.
