So downloaded the app for the first time today, I have multiple health conditions so I am declared disabled but thought after being told for more years than I can remember that I shouldn't exercise as it will make me worse but managing to walk 20miles in 4 days this week that I would give running ago!
This was a photo of me 12months ago during my 3 month stay in hospital - still trying to get myself better from this and prove a lot to myself both physically and mentally

Firstly, massive respect to you for wanting to prove to yourself that you can get well from what has been holding you back. Having that positive attitude is fantastic and joining this forum will help you immensely. There is quite a lot of help and support from fellow runners that will spur you on I’m sure. Good luck, enjoy and keep well 💗
We would never recommend that you go against the advice of medical professionals who know your history, but you are an adult, so if you make the decision to follow the plan, take it easy on yourself and keep it nice and slow, to build stamina and endurance.
Welcome. Well done getting that walking done... here’s hoping that this doesn’t make any conditions worse. Don’t do too much too soon, and run nice and slowly... you may have a lot to prove to yourself, I did too, but slow and steady is the way to amaze ourselves in the long run (no pun intended, I’m not that smart 🤣). Enjoy your journey.
Take it very slowly and gently. I did just because I was older and had never run before but you have even more reasons to go easy on yourself. If you need to do a bit less or repeat weeks that's totally fine. Lots of us do that. And very best of luck on your journey.
Welcome! You have an amazing attitude but do keep in contact with your medical team. My best advice is to google Japanese slow running. This has helped many of us. Drink lots of water & follow the program. Rest days are compulsory. Look forward to hearing how W1:1 goes. Keep us posted! 🌺
Good for you! I would suggest you Google 'japanese slow running'. It is a great technique if you need to be extra careful for any reason. Its a way of challenging your fitness and still taking care of yourself.
Hi and welcome! Good for you, taking charge of your health is the best thing you can do for yourself! Please listen to your health professionals as you go through this though, and listen to your body! If it feels like it's too much, slow down, please 🙏
You've found a wonderful place to spend some time, I'm looking forward to seeing your journey!
