The couch to 5k app has been downloaded on my phone for longer than I care to remember. Thinking I could never run due to being an asthmatic, I am keen to now give this a go... any advice for a running novice with moderate asthma???

Hello, the best thing to do would speak to your asthma nurse about using your inhalers and running.
C25k is an amazing plan and really does work you'll get lots of encouragement and support on here good luck 😊😊
Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.

Great advice on here Acott. Speak to your nurse then put on your trainers and follow the program very carefully. Run slowly, relax and enjoy it! 😊
Acott1 - is your asthma well-managed? I too am asthmatic and have struggled until recently to get it well-managed. I have found that running actually clears my chest. As others have said, talk to your asthma clinicians (especially if you don’t have it under control). The thing is, you know what’s going to be too much so make sure you take your inhaler (puffs beforehand help) and don’t push it such that it’s a problem. Asthma is not a reason to not run - I thought it was for a long time - but it isn’t. Come on in; the water’s great! X
