Repeating week 4. Must not think this is a backward step. Any thoughts anyone?

Continuing to run can't be a backward step can it ? It is success by any measure 😊. I had to redo various weeks on C25k because of calf issues. I got there in the end by resting for a week or so and rejoining the programme a couple of weeks before the point at which I picked up the injury. I then focused on just completing the distance, however slowly, until I finished the programme. Calf strengthening exercises, you can google loads of them, have really helped too. So, if it is an injury problem redoing the odd week is a good thing. If it is confidence, just keep everything really slow and you will get there; being stubborn I would just go on to week 5, but a re doing a week isn't a big deal. Enjoy it, and keep things really seriously slow; just running for the allotted time is all that matters.

Think of it as building more stamina it’s your race

Just getting out there and running is a big step forward, and repeating a run builds strength and stamina to move on to the next week when you are ready

Looking back on my posts I actually repeated wk4 and it really helped with wk5. Do what's right for you. Well done you 😊😊

Every one is aiming for the same target. Running for 30 minutes in the time it takes to do the plan.

Every one starts from a different place. Some are youngsters, some older.

Some are slim, some chunkier. Some are quite fit to start with. Others may have let themselves go or may have had health issues making activity more difficult.

Will they all get there in the same time? No!

I repeated a week of runs, because I didn’t think I performed very well. I was not happy to progress.

When I did move on to the next week, I was more confident that I would be able to, being more prepared, make a much better job of that next week.

Each week I was quite prepared to find that too much for me and stop.

Fortunately, the plan prepares you for what is next. You do, though, have to work the plan thoroughly. If you are not happy with your stance, breathing, pace or anything else. Have another go!

You are the only one counting. No one else cares if you take nine weeks or nine months. The important thing is to get to 30 minutes running, in good health. Happy in body and mind.

The streets will be clear of emmetts soon. Get out there and do another week of the plan. W3, W4 or W5? Not important.

Are you happy and confident? Important! Go Girl!

Why are you repeating? It’s by no means a backwards step, but if you managed to do it then move on, I was terrified when I looked forward to each new week. 52 and overweight, never ever ran before, I huffed and puffed my way through each week, still huffing and puffing now but plodding on. Good luck. Do what you need to do, but seriously, if you’ve completed the week you will be ok xx

Every run makes you stronger, so nothing wrong with repeating, but you don't say why you are doing so.

This might put another perspective on it healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Do it whichever way you want.
