I am doing a run tonight, on W9R3.... so my last one BUT I feel so anxious about it. I am sat in work (obviously not working!!) just thinking about tonight, I cannot concentrate or think about anything else. I am really amazed at my progress and C25K really does work, I have run for longer than the 30 minutes already (using Runkeeper).
It isn't just today's run I am anxious about it has been them all but in varying degrees, today's just seems to be worse for some reason.
I have signed up for my first official 5K next Friday and yes I am a little apprehensive about this.
Does anyone have any coping strategies to help me with this anxiety, I never want to quit but I can feel me just getting to that point if this gets any worse. Help me please....xx

Firstly take a few deep breaths . Look how far you've came how well you've done . You are amazing. Go out for your run and remember how great it feels to actually run and completing a run. Please enjoy this moment then come back later to post . Good luck, you can do this 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Just throw one foot in front of the other. Live in the moment, concentrate on the podcast and concentrate on your breathing. Just keep on plodding away. Don’t over think it. It’s just a run, it’s the same as the previous 2. Enjoy it.
Try to just recognise the feeling of anxiety, note it, and let it go. Don’t follow it and think what might happen, how you might feel; notice the feeling, acknowledge it and let it go. Breathe, be present, you’ve got this, trust in the programme. Enjoy the run, then come and tell us all about it!
Try to identify what your anxious about. If its running in front of other people, pick a quiet route. If it running the distance, then plan in advance to do a comfortable time, say 20mins instead of 30. If you force yourself then you'll not enjoy it and likely stop altogether. As you improve and feel more confident your anxieties will probably feel less an obstacle.
Anxiety is such a little bugger. Try to remember that you've done them all so far, so you know you'll be fine.
Also, if it helps, just tell it (the anxiety) that you're in charge now and it isn't going to stop you anymore! 💪🏻
I found that I put myself on a team, with my body, and put my mental gremlins, anxiety especially outside the team. Anything that's not with us (the team) can be beaten by us! Doesn't work 100% but most of the time 👍🏻😁
Thank you to everyone who replied to me, I went and I did it and I actually run for 37 minutes. Doing my first planned 5K on Friday night so I know now I can do the minutes it's just the distance. But hey if I don't at least I have tried and done a lot more than I could do 12 weeks ago...……… xx
Thank you so much. I really have amazed myself but sometimes don't feel like it's real and it's not actually me that is doing it, lol, if that makes any sense. I really am loving it x
