Feeling confident on holiday (at last!)

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I posted on here, but I've had nothing to report much to you that you might find interesting. But I did want to tell you this:

Since graduating in February of this year, I have been consistently running 5k 3 or 4 times per week. I'm happy with that; it's doing me good, I'm enjoying it, and so am not intending to increase my distance at the moment. My pace is improving over time as well. All is good.

What I DID want to say to you all is that I've just returned from a lovely two-week holiday in Menorca (and resumed my running successfully and without issue on my return), where for the first time in years I felt confident enough to remove my t-shirt by the pool or on the beach. This is a pretty huge thing for me. I'm still a big lad in spite of losing 2 stone since January, and still have much work to do, but I didn't feel like "the fat one" any more. In fact, I felt quite good. And it's all down to a reduction in beer-intake, a healthier diet and, above all else, the C25K plan. Not only has it altered me health-wise and physically, but consequently my mental health is much improved and my confidence is higher than it has been for a long, long time. I'm happier and more outgoing. So thank you C25K, and thank all for your support and encouragement throughout my journey. This is one hell of a forum, and although I don't post much these days, I am a regular visitor and more than happy to offer help and encouragement when I can.

Thanks again everyone, and please, if you're struggling- don't let it beat you! Keep it up. The results are literally life-changing!!!

Wonderful post...well done on your postive life changes

Running should be prescribed for so many issues...particularly mental health issues where possible

Keep up the good work...were you not tempted to run in Menorca?
