Started running for the first time in my life at 52 and have followed the c25k to the letter so far. I have just done w6r2. I decided to post myself now as I have gained so much from reading others and wanted to stop lurking😆
My question is I only run at a pace of just under 7km an hour so although my main aim is to run for 30 minutes without stopping I would eventually like to do a park run but feel far to slow. Ps I mainly run on a treadmill

Great for getting to wk6. There is no too slow pace everyone has their own comfortable pace. You can do parkrun any time you want , you will really enjoy it . Good luck 😊
I also mostly do it on a treadmill but a lot slower than 7km/hr so you are speedier than me! Don't worry about the speed. I have 2 more runs to go before graduating then aim to gradually increase the speed. 30 mins running is the goal to aim for
Welcome to not lurking!! In my opinion, you’re running perfectly for the plan, slow and steady is much better for your development than fast and furious (easier too!)
As for parkrun, they welcome everyone who can get round the course... and that can be walking pretty slowly. The original parkrun at Bushy Park regularly has walkers coming in well over an hour after the start. You’d be welcomed there any time, you can walk it, run walk it, or run it... so you could even go there for any of the runs on the plan, although we’d all advise to not get carried away and just run what you’re scheduled to run, walking to the end. In short, you’re never too slow for parkrun.
Well done you! I’m on the treadmill and am slower than you I’m on week9 .. I too am aiming to do a park run! I don’t think it matters how fast you are some people walk round 😊
I’m just waiting till I feel confident in the 30mins run and then will maybe try and build up my pace.. good luck
