Hi all - my last run before Parkrun and enjoyed it a lot but stopped as I got lost in a wood !!! My friend recommended trail running which I enjoyed so much on my last run that I detoured off my normal run as I discovered a wooded area mid-run. Not only did it allow for a little bit of trail but was nice and shady from the morning sun. That was a little bit of a mistake as I got lost !!! I’ve only lived here 20 years but never been in this wood and did not realise its size - how embarrassing !! Eventually retraced my steps and finished the 5k at 33 mins.
I’ll do it again as I enjoyed the trail but will ensure I read the map before setting off!

That looks lovely. I'm just back from a 5K, from my gate and around the druridge bay lake and back home. It's a bit cooler in Northumberland this morning. 41.22 mins. Im still struggling on the last quarter though.
Brilliant, sounds like the sort of thing I'd do 😃 I love trail runs and I'm a pro at getting lost... everywhere! It looks like your training's going well, good luck for Saturday 😊
Good run for you today CAF62, apart from getting lost, good luck for your first parkrun this Saturday, you shouldn't get lost on that, strangely enough it has happened, 😂I am sure you will enjoy it. 😊 🏃
