Ok, so tomorrow morning before work I’m going to attempt W5R3, as most of you will know it’s a 20min continuous run.

Fair to say I’m dreading it!!!! Anyone any advice on how to get through it? Ta in advance

You’ll be fine, it’s not that hard after what you’ve already done. It’s more a mental challenge than a physical one.

You don't need to dread it Chris, just get to bed a little earlier than usual, when you wake up, say to yourself "I am ready for this 20 minutes run, raring to go", take the run slow and steady, once you have completed it you will be very proud of yourself, good luck. 👍 🏃 😊

All the runs up until now have prepared you for it. Just go slow make sure you're hydrated. You will skip in to work tomorrow after completing this. Good luck 😊

Youll be fine. Start off slow, then go slower! Seriously, try and see what the slowest you can run is. This plan is all about time not distance. The biggest problem people have is that they think they have to be quicker than they are. That will come later. Go for it Chris, you'll smash it

I completed W5 last week. I was a bit doubtful too when it came to R3. I’m doing W6R3 tomorrow....and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve found completing W5R3 has pushed me through an invisible barrier - I’m now at more confident about how long/far I’m capable of running.

Just remember it’s your run, at your pace. You’ve got this!

I forgot abut that one... thank you...we need that re posting at the moment I feel.... so much misguided, well intentioned though it is, and quite scary advice being given out.

Nice slow running, self belief and a dash of determination... you’ve got all 3 of those in you... enjoy putting them together in the morning.

Try it and you’ll be surprised at how well you do. I was meant to repeat W5R2 last week but somehow pressed on R3 instead! I thought what the hell, let’s see how far I can run. I did the full 20 mins, nice and slow. If I can do it (for someone who struggled to get through 60 secs only a few weeks ago), you can too! Good luck.

All the best for your run. As others have said, the programme has physically prepared you to do it, and now the hurdle is mental. Once you've proved to yourself that you can run 20 minutes, you will have cracked it. I found w6r1 harder than w5r3. Enjoy the fantastic feeling after your run - bet you have a smile on your face all day!

I’ve just completed that run and was dreading it too, if you tell your head you can do it , your legs will , once you’ve completed this run it will make week 6 seem more manageable - good luck

Hi

I did it this morning and like you was dreading it. I took someone else’s advice and broke it down mentally into 4*5minute chunks. Worked a dream.

Just kept saying to myself I’ll get through next 5 mins. I run in a wood and I’d worked out it would be 2 circuits in advance which also didn’t seem too bad plus plenty to look at.

Good luck. You can definitely do it
