Running = new found confidence!

Hi guys! Not been on this for a while! I graduated a few months ago and have been addicted to running 5k’s ever since. I have lost over 3 stone in weight since February (started the plan a few weeks after) and I cannot express how much confidence I have gained in the process.

The right hand photo is at the beginning of my journey - I used to wear a jumper on my runs because I was very self conscious about my weight and how people would be looking at my ‘jiggly’ bits. I used to run at times and places were there was the least chance of people seeing me.

The photo on the left is me now. I feel like that’s a different person (physically and mentally!) I run on main roads, at busy times WITHOUT anything covering me up. I am happy, confident and so much healthier and that’s all because of the C25K running plan.

To anyone at the start of their journey and feeling demotivated, embarrassed or that they aren’t ‘runners’ I hope this post shows you the beauty of the plan and I am so greatful I started this journey. Every run is a struggle at the time but at the end the feeling is amazing.

Keep going!!! Hi

That’s a fantastic story! Must be some great runs to be done along Scotland’s east coast? Well done you 👍👏

Hi Dalmorange! Thank you for your reply! Yes I am very lucky to live here - my usual route is down by Broughty Ferry beach and it’s just beautiful to run alongside the river Tay! 🌊

Wow, lucky you! We live in Yorkshire but I’ve worked twice in Scotland so know/love the country and we’re now organising a “runcation” in Largs for next year! Happy running 🏃‍♂️👏👍 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Largs is lovely, I used to go to Largs and Ayr as a child and still like to go now and again

It is, we had two flats during our time there overlooking the magnificent Firth of Clyde. We used to have some superb walks up and down the prom and to the marina and back. So we want to go back and run this time....all that sea air & scenery! My only concern is that I’d find it very difficult to run past Nardini’s 🍦!!!

Yes but an ice cream cone will be so well deserved after a run 😊

I believe it’s actually a criminal offence to pass Nardini’s, running or walking.

Great photo and post from you, better running alongside the Tay than a main road. 😊 🏃 Have you ran any parkruns?
