Running for weightloss?

Hi all!

I'm about to embark on w1r3 and am enjoying it so far.

Was wondering how people further along the plan have noticed a change in their weight since starting?

I'm running to improve my overall wellbeing but I do have a few stone to lose so looking for some inspiration!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

you can only lose weight if you burn more calories than you consume. So, by starting to learn to run it should help with that. Being more mobile in general will help too so leave the car at home and get walking

I have lost a stone since running but I had lost quite a before I got to the point where I could start to learn to run with C25k.

Running will help your weight loss but only if you are eating and drinking the right things.

It takes time too, but early signs are clothes feeling looser! Good luck. Get going with the programme and get the healthy eats organised. Set yourself up to succeed and you will. It needs a determined head 🙂

Thanks for your response! Well done on your weightloss, a stone off is great!!

I'm following weight watchers at the moment so hoping that combined with c25k will see me lose some lbs..

I'm on W7 and also started out to improve my fitness and lose a couple of stone.

I've found the general advice to be true, you won't lose a great deal of weight by running alone, so I started calorie counting, I use an app so I input what I eat and it tells me the calories and always how many I should be eating on a daily basis, I've also started doing some light weights to tone the flabby areas and I have found this all helps.

I'm now losing about 2lb a week, which doesn't sound a lot but I do need to eat.

I've dropped down into a 36 waist for the 1st time in as long as I can remember and my suit jacket fits properly again instead of looking strained.

Small changes that you can keep up for the long haul are the way forward, nothing too drastic as it just won't be sustainable.

Good luck for your journey, and if you want it, you will achieve it

As the others say , this is not a weight loss programme, but it will combine really well with an eat less, or a healthy eating regime:)

It will tighten you up and you will feel so much better, physically and mentally...encouraging you, hopefully to want to feel like this more and more :)

I too am hoping to lose some weight. Personally, I am more interested in getting the running down before focusing on diet. I am never one to do everything all at once.

I have to get used to one thing at a time. Running is the easier thing to get to grips with. The diet is tricky for me.

I'll get there eventually, but I won't pressure myself as I'll never succeed if I do.

That's the only way to do it, small changes you can stick with, once your comfortable with one add another

Hi dmxw

I am on wk 9 and have not dieted during this time but what I noticed only last week is that I have lost fat off my back and waist areas as well as my legs look more toned. The scales say I have lost a whole 2lb (!) BUT my clothes tell me a very different story. I now am back into my size whereas I was at the stage of going up a size.

All this in 9 weeks has made me a very happy bunny along with loving the running and beating the gremlins.

Good luck with yr journey and update us with how you get on and what results you feel. X
