Wk5 run1 done but must learn to breathe better, plenty of oxygen out there just cant get enough in my lungs! Any tips other than deep breaths, because that's not working.

SLOW DOWWWWWWWNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!

You need to jog at a pace at which you can speak clear ungasping sentences as you run, as described in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

If you cannot, you are going unsustainably fast.

Thank you, I will give it a try though I dont think I am running fast by any means 🤔

If you cannot breathe you are running too fast or your current state of fitness.......... don't compare to anyone else.

I read the guide to c25k and despite the endurance test of doing so 😁, the advice is really helpful and should be compulsory reading before embarking on c25k. Thank you ! I will now slow down, be better hydrated and always take a rest day and with any luck, I will get to the end in one piece.

Hi 👋🏻

I was the same until I posted on here. I was getting so stressed about my breathing that I actually made it worse. Instead, I’m going to slow my pace right down. Each run is an opportunity to learn something about our bodies 🏃🏽‍♀️

I’ll let you know how it goes 😊

I was the same as you I couldn’t get the air in....I felt strong but just couldn’t get enough puff!

In through the nose fill that belly not chest and slowly through the mouth, it takes a bit of practice that’s for sure, YouTube is full of good videos on this I was at W4 before it settled down.

Hope this helps and keep on going.

Incredibly, if you try to sing along to your music, even just in bits, it helps you to keep slow enough to breath better. 👍🏻

Slow down and slow down again! Your breathing will sort itself out eventually 👍🏽
