Started again...week 1 run 1 tonight

I started C25K back in May and was getting on alright, even got to week 3 (!) Never thought I would get that far. However me and my clumsy self fell up some wooden steps and very badly bruised my knee and caused a few issues internally... I sought advice from a physio and those exercises have made me feel like I could get back out there. And I did tonight! I shall see how my knee fairs over the next couple of days. Felt good to get back out there. I was slow, but I ran. I hope I can carry on as I need to do something to feel fitter, not happy how I am at the moment.

Welcome to the forum and welcome back to the plan. Sounds painful, but I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who falls up the stairs... most regular people stick to falling down them! Great comeback run... keep it nice and slow, that’s the way to build endurance and fitness, and enjoy your journey.

Me too, I fall upstairs quite often with handfuls of washing

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started again.

This guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... includes advice on minimising impact and stretching after every run, which should help.

Enjoy your journey.

Welcome back ! Just take it slow and steady. Enjoy your rest days - you deserve them, and they help prevent injury. If you want to improve overall fitness, the NHS Strength and Flex podcasts are really helpful too. Keep us posted !
