Should I get a massage??

On Thursday, I did a new route. I went on MapMyRun, mapped out a 6K and then went for it. Couple of things. 1. I narrowly missed half a tree falling on me.

2. I didn't think to factor in hills. Oh my days, the hills. It was far too advanced for an amateur like me. I managed to push myself to 5k, then had to walk the rest. I felt a pain in my left calf muscle. It's only in a small area, but hurt!

This morning, the pain had gone, so off I went to do parkrun. At 1.5k the pain was back. I still managed to finish, but the area is quite sore. Just wondering what people suggest. Few days rest, or get a massage on my leg?!?!? Thanks in advance 👍

Use ‘onthego’ it shows the terrain. It helps so much, I did all my runs on the most flat area I could find. Then started Parkrun and decided I needed hill, so I have a look for a route that has hills. It’s brilliant.

Few days rest , but lots of stretching, and a foam roller on that area. Never had a sports massage myself, but it sounds good! Hills - yes. Tricky blighters. They seem to use different muscles that aren't used to it. Squeezing your glutes, and pulling in your abs really helps to support your leg muscles.
