Week 6 killer!!

Struggling with week 6. I’ve had two goes at w6 R3 and still can’t manage it....although the seconds attempt was much better just a little walk at about 14 minutes. The weather was awful - blowing a hoolie and rain showers but I’m making excuses!! Hopefully my next attempt will be successful. Any tips? Is it in my head?! After the uphoria of running 20 mins at the end of week 5 I feel a wee but disappointed this week.

Just keep going, you will make it. It is in your head, Michael Johnson (who was my coach ) says it’s mental.

I am through that and running, but still have days where I am not happy with my performance. You will get there.

Enjoy what you are achieving. It’s amazing. Good luck.

Wait a day, hopefully the weather will be better, relax and run the 25 minute run slow and steady, good luck, you have already ran run 3 of week 5, so you can do it. 😊 🏃

Hi Sparkey5000! For me, it was about deciding I could do it.....and then doing it very slowly....I mean, slower than walking slowly...you can do it, the only thing that'll stop you is giving up! And take a good rest day or two before you try again 😊

Keep going. If your not ready to move on, just repeat. You already said the second attempt was better so the 3rd will be even better! Just don’t give up because you can definitely do it. If you feel like it’s getting hard, just try and forget about the pain, slow down and try to push to the end. C25k is not about speed and in actual fact the programme aim is not necessarily to get you running 5km but to get you running for 30 minutes. It’s not a race and it doesn’t matter how far you go in the time. It’s all about endurance. You CAN do it!

Take it slow, very slow and keep going!

You can do this. Less wind would also be a help? Good luck.

The strong winds will have made it harder, take your rest day, and then give it another go, but try to slow it down as far as you can. The aim is to keep going for the duration, the pace isn't an issue, going slow will get you to the time. You have got through week 5, and most of week 6, so you can do this 🤩

I first saw the Japanese slow jogging film in w6 and it changed everything for me. It’s a low impact style of running and there’s more to it than just slow!

I still run this way all the time because I love it and it makes the running actually pleasurable while doing it!

The key to it is the landing and short stride, worth watching a few times to get it all. Hope it helps x

Well done, keep on pushing, but if you are struggling, slow down to the easy conversational pace as described in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
