Trying to kid myself

So I'm on my holiday looking at all these gorgeous thin people thinking how many times have I said I'm going to be thin! Now believe it or not I go to the gym three times a week swim 4 or 5 times but I know if I'm about fed up I'll have some chocolate or crisps which after eating them doesn't make me feel any better!

So when I get home I'm seriously going to get back into the running and a strict calorie counter diet! I'd really appreciate all your support ! X

You absolutely have everyone’s full support if that’s what you want to do. But can I also just say, you are perfect EXACTLY as you are. Happiness with who you are and how you look really is the key to everything. You go to the gym/swim which is fantastic, running for me is great for my head and my health too. Life is so short, truly it is. Enjoy the holiday, enjoy your body, eat the cake, wear the bikini, laugh a lot. To quote Dr Seuss: ‘Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!‘

Have a great holiday! You’ll be sure to receive a warm welcome here when you return ☺️

I was always good with food side of things it was the chocolate I loved and lots if it. I stopped smoking and put on 4 and a half stone. Now I know a lot of people are happy as they are and that's great , but I definitely wasn't happy . So I started by cutting out the chocolate took up brisk walking 6 days a week then when I couldn't go any faster I joined c25k. I still type everything I eat into my Samsung health app and it helped. I'm still running all thanks to c25k and all the support I got on here is amazing. I'm now 3st 3lbs less than I was just a wee bit to go yet. I am now happy because I'm fitter and more confident how I look. Sorry about the long post . Good luck you and enjoy your holiday 😊😊😊

C25K in conjunction with healthier choices and some calorie counting (there is a NHS weight loss forum on here too with loads of help & advice on a 1400 cal per day plan) can work really well for you too. You can do this at a slow gentle pace and still get fit and strong. Gentle jogging is really good for shifting stomach fat - I’ve lost over 5 inches from my waist! Feel better, trimmer and stronger than I have in years.

Few tips - start drinking more water in prep for this - sipping water through the day. When you start c25k - trust it it works - my first breakthrough was learning that my brisk walk could be faster than my run. And if you like the slower pace - there’s quite a few of us here who are fans of the Japanese slow jogging technique, a low impact style of running designed to avoid injury. So all the benefits of running but without it feeling like a slog!

This is an amazing journey, and a lovely supportive forum. You can do this - we did - and a lot of us started this unfit, carrying excess baggage and not in the first flush of youth (me!!). You’ll be amazed at what you can do! Good luck x
