Hi everyone I graduated last September (2018) and have been running 39mins 3 times a week since but have still not hit 5km! SLOWLY getting there though. I'm not going to give up now.

It's a credit to you that you keep going and can smash out 3 runs a week, without a program to follow x

Welcome to the forum.

I’d be varying up the runs. Not sure how far you are off 5k but a couple of 30s at a gentle pace will give you more for the 39, which could then extend a bit.

It sounds like you’re doing great things getting out there as consistently, if it really matters to you to get to 5k I reckon you must have enough stamina to do a few minutes more on your next run then a few more till you are doing 5k at your own pace, but honestly? If you’re happy doing what you’re doing like you say it will happen one day

If there is a Parkrun close to you give it a go. It’s a little easier I find running and pacing in a crowd. And the atmosphere is addictive. It would be a nice way to hit your 5K milestone.

Well done.

If you read the guide to post C25K running healthunlocked.com/couchto5... it suggests just using one run per week to extend duration, while keeping the others more like 30 minutes.
