Gastro Enteritis & blisters (running minus socks - doh!) delayed me by two weeks. Nevertheless, i eventually ran for the 54th time this morning and clocked up a total of 265k in 36h 35m 16s since step one of C25k at the age of 63 (nerdy stuff eh? ) . Luckily, I no longer get any niggly twinges & I'm generally much more energetic. In the early days, I focused the effort involved but now I listen to my favourite running tracks & think about stuff that's on my mind or my surroundings rather than the effort involved although I do notice points on my suburban route and compare them to points on my play list that tell me how I'm doing. What I learned other than how to avoid blisters is firstly, that my heart rate went to 168 on one diabolically hot day - inadvisable at my age to say the least and secondly, that if a previously died-in-the-wool running-phobic person like me can enjoy a regular and frequent slow jog or run then it convinces me that everyone attempting C25k should try to persevere and keep it up after graduation because it gets more easy and more enjoyable with time. Good luck to all.

Congratulations on your 2nd anniversary GibsonBBKing. It’s amazing how many of us over 60s have taken up running and improved our health and fitness. In my case, reduced my blood pressure to an acceptable level and improved sleeping. No matter how tough c25k may seem, you do come to love running and all it brings.
