Colin has a sore knee so I made him watch the slow Japanese running video and we managed a slow28 minute run with good posture good breathing more steps but less distance than last time, we are super happy

Well done, getting to the end of a run with no stopping is really pleasing and motivating 😊😊

I’m a nagging about the knee along with pain relief resting and taking things slowly it held up fine, usually he goes off in front and i have to do little faster bits to catch up but today we ran slow together and enjoyed it more

Cool... if he doesn’t keep that up you’ll need a lead on him!

Now that would be funny, we share headphones and if he goes too far in front they don’t work

I think I’d just have to find out how slowly I could make him run!

It was very slow this morning, we could sing and that’s slow

I can’t run slow enough to sing... of course I can’t sing stood still either!

Ha ha I can’t sing but Colin is a singer/songwriter we both are musicians but he’s more versatile than me

Wonderful! Slow jogging is brilliant, isn’t it? It’s great if you have creaky joints, as it puts less strain on them, and you are still using the same muscles as for faster running, and still burning the same amount of calories for less effort! Sounds like a win-win situation! 😁

anticipating starting in September August is busy at work and a lot going on so thought i would postpone it. i am a bit of a fraud as i expect i could run 5 km to day , but i want to easy back after a long time out into it slowly.

I did C25KM last October and enjoyed but did not push on after had a niggle and life took over.

I will have a look tonight , thanks

I thought I could run 5k when i started and barely managed 1 minute the first week but if you’ve done it before then you know what to expect

Good luck and that slow running is great for avoiding injuries

Fantastic! And slow rocks!! Did you know you use the same calories running 5k fast or slow? It’s the distance not the speed that counts - so embrace the snail & all the benefits of running are still yours but without pain or injury! I love the Japanese slow jogging technique & still run that way all the time!

I love slow running and yes did know about the calories, when I ran years before computers and kilometers i used to calculate on about 100 calories a mile and it’s interesting now that fitbit tells me I’ve used 247 calories for about two and a half miles. Once we graduate we will increase slowly until we get 5k and see how long it takes
