I know this is forward planning but I have noticed that it is starting to get darker. I tend to run early in the morning along a towpath.I was wondering how you experienced runners cope with the long winter days. Can anyone recommend a good headtorch or any other required gear? Obviously Hi Vis clothing is important.

Running in the dark
Will be interested on this too. Up at 5 for my runs and don’t fancy running in the dark. Although at least now if someone jumps out I’ve got half a chance of running away. 🏃🏻♀️😳🏃🏻♀️😳
Ha ha yes we can do that now!!
As long as it’s no further than 5k or I’ve had it!
Yes after I’ve put my earphones in, stretched and briskly walked... 😱
Hydrated, adjusted Garmin, checked the correct playlist and cleaned glasses........and got through the toxic 10
Hi JB. I asked about this a few weeks back and got some good tips and advice here: healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...
I’m already starting to worry about this too. Although that’s when running club might be an option. Bought a great head torch on Amazon that recharges using a usb connection. Excellent compared to old battery one. It was bought for walking the dog but I think will work for running too.
When I started running almost a year ago, I set three rules: no running in the rain, in mud or in the dark.
Living in Cornwall, the first two went by the board early on. But I still won’t run in the dark: I’ll drive in the dark but won’t start until daybreak. If I’m on the road I’ll be hi-vizzed like a Christmas tree and never with headphones.
