I was on week 4, run 2, when my daughter fell poorly and was in hospital for 6 days, so I didn’t have chance to complete my run for 10 days, I tried to complete the run today and I couldn’t, I was exhausted, I’m so disappointed in myself as I was doing so well 😢.
So disappointed in myslff: I was on week 4, run... - Couch to 5K
So disappointed in myslff
Sorry about your daughter having to go to hospital but I am glad she is out and recovering.
No don't be too disappointed with yourself, you had to take that break, take two extra days off running, restart with run 1 of week 4, take all the runs slowly, that way you should get back to running and be OK. 😊 🏃
Woah there! You have all that going on... you’re there for your daughter, you’re probably not sleeping because she’s not well, you’re exhausted, you’re stressed, and probably a couple of factors that you don’t mention... I’m proud that you got out and ran at all! I don’t care if you managed 10 yards... you crossed a startline when maybe the best run was no run under the circumstances. Don’t be disappointed with yourself... be proud that you’re a loving parent who’s also determined to get fit and healthy. The runs do wait for their butts to be kicked... there’s no rush.
You're exhausted. Rest up a few more days. Your daughter has been in hospital, that must have been stressful and emotionally draining for you. Let yourself rest and recover and you can come back strong and refreshed. Cut yourself some slack and don't be disappointed in yourself, be kind to yourself. Glad your daughter is home now and recovering. ☺
You've had a lot going on and worrying about a child can be physically and mentally draining. Take a few rest days and try again. You can do it 😊😊
Definitely - don't be hard on yourself. As I go through the programme, I think so much of it is about your psychology and as Unfitnomore says, you should be proud that you got out there, given what you've been going through. Give yourself credit for that, take care of yourself and remember, there's no rush.
When you add strenuous exercise into your life you have to accept that everything else going on in your life is going to impact on your performance. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised for performance to be good. Cut yourself some slack. Your situation is bound to be stressful and will inevitably affect your ability to run. Take it easy, have a rest and try again.
You ARE doing well. As a mother you have no choice but to push your needs back at times, don't worry you'll still get there!
Have a rest and go again, you're stronger than you're giving yourself credit for. 💪🏻👍🏻😉
Stop that right now.... disappointed be blowed... Your daughter was ill and your priority was her... end of! That is brilliant and just as it should be...
Now....rest up... give yourself a hug..head out again for Week 4... Run 2.... steady and slow.... and know everyone of us is right there beside you...You are awesome and never forget it.
Hydrate well... have a good sleep and , as long as daughter is recovering well.. you are going to be just fine
family stresses aside (and that is a BIG ask, I know), sometimes there are harder runs than other times
add in your daughter being in hospital (as a mother I know how much that would have impacted me) and it stands to reason that something has to give - it was your running and that's normal
as everyone has said, head out there, slow and steady, do what you can and get back into it
I am glad she is ok now and sorry your family had to go through it
Oh you poor thing! You've got enough going on without beating yourself up as well! Have a rest, then do exactly what floss says. Here's a (((hug))) just for you 😊
