I don't know how I am going to graduate with this heat 🥵 wk8r1

I didn't finish. I struggled with the heat so I feel of a failure though. I managed 25 minutes I just couldn't do it. That heat! 🥵🥵🥵🥵 How the hell do you run with this heat???I know I can see why lots of runners prefer cooler temperature. So I will repeat again that run... Oh dear just when you can sniff the 🏆 I went backwards!!!! The photo actually run slightly faster so not too bad, but not great either! 😓

You’re not a failure at all, look how amazingly far you’ve come! It’s been a beast today, the humidity was pointed out to me earlier today when I complained about lead legs. I run early morning as couldn’t manage in the heat. It’s much cooler. I know it’s not always easy to do but if you can it’s worth a try. Good luck and smash graduation , I’m almost there with you 👍🏻

Thank you that helps... To be honest it was at 2PM, but I couldn't do earlier or later... Not much choice, but hey... 🥵🥵🥵 Next run I will do in the eve... 🤣

Come over to Ireland. We don’t know anything about heat other than when our home heating comes on. God forgot to turn off the Air Conditioning over here.

🤣🤣🤣 Or the heating in Spain.... 🥵🥵🥵🥵 I am in the UK (South and it is hot!!!). I lived in Dublin many years ago and it would have been perfect!!!

Be thankful Damien that you live in Ireland, I live in Scotland, like Ireland Scotland avoids the +30C temperatures that parts of England, especially the south are starting to get in a regular basis, it still can be warm and humid but not as bad as further south and usually we are first to get the cooler weather when it come back after a heatwave.

I had to stop my run at 3K this morning it was so so humid.. rest up..hydrate really well and run earlier if you are able.

Slow and steady...take a small bottle if water 8f you can to pour over your wrists and rub the back of your neck with..There is a great belt that has two small bottles. You can take just one though..

Zikee belt...Amazon..

Well done you!

in reply toOldfloss

Thank you for the advice Oldfloss!!! Will look at amazon!!! I wasn't able to run earlier or later, gosh my legs were lead... Next time I will try to find only shades on route!!!

Definitely not a fail you ran 25 minutes non stop that's great . Have a rest day drink plenty water and try again . You can do it 😊😊

in reply toBuddy34

Thank you. I will try again. Hopefully this time I can finish, probably I will have to do very early in the morning!!!😀

I generally run early in the morning. My dog comes with me so I always check it’s not too hot for her before I go, also drink plenty. With the heat it can stay quite hot well into the evening. You are well ahead of me though and running for 25 minutes is definitely not a fail 😊

in reply toPortobellos

Problem is I have two young sons to look after, so early is not an option I can choose. One day though. I generally run in the evenings. Yesterday was an one off running midday... Never again lol 🥵🥵🥵🥵

The hot weather probably won’t last too much longer (this is England 😂). Happy running 😊

Not a failure at all - think how long you ran in the weather you had - you did extremely well! Be kind to yourself and use it as prep for your next run - every run is experience for your next 🤗 x

in reply toBluepup1

Thank you, that is really nice to hear😀

Not a failure, but a practice run. 😉 You’re only human, and a baby runner at that (same here!). Don’t worry. You’ll do it. We’re all rooting for you!

in reply toMuddledGardener

Hey thanks!!! Yes, it has been challenging for me, but hopefully I will get there soon and many years of running! 💗 You too good luck!!!

Goodness me! You are amazing. You have gone from 1 minute to over 25. No one can take that away. Don’t punish yourself.

It’s going to be warm so... hydrate and try to run early, late or on a treadmill. Slow down, chose a shady route. Good luck 💪👍

Thank you for your lovely words!!!! 😀

Do a few little runs to keep going, tackle week 8 when the weather is cooler - you have no reason to rush. I really struggle with the heat due to being menopausal. Relax, you have forever! Xxxx

in reply toHazel10

Thank you!!! I think I may have to do that lol! 😀

Gosh! You did so well! I can't run at all in the heat! I can bearly walk. Can you go early or late before it gets too hot? You certainly didn't fail! 🎉🏃‍♀️🎈💕

in reply toangie31964

Well normally I run in the evenings. Yesterday was an exception as I couldn't do another time. Thank you!!!

Crikey don’t beat yourself up, I live in the south too and did W8R2 yesterday at 8pm and the heat was bad enough then but at 2pm it was brutal....take it easy this week as it’s supposed to be very hot and please give yourself credit for getting this far, well done ☀️

in reply toPinknfluffylady

Yep it was brutal lol. I carried water this time and I still felt dehydrated. Better when it is cooler. I don't know how am going to run in Madrid( Spain) ...it is in the 40s degrees C.... 🥵🥵🥵🥵

Don't give up! You're doing fab. Not a failure, look at your distance and time and pat yourself on the back.

Are there any alternative routes that are more shaded maybe? Or could you go at a different time?

Good luck xox

in reply toDAMAL

Yet to find shaded routes!!!! I will try again tomorrow, see how it goes.... Thank you!!!
