Hi everyone.

I graduated at the end of may having amazed myself. Although nowhere near 5k, I was so proud of my 30 minute runs.

Since then I have seemed to have lost my way and with the last few weeks being busy, I have only really managed to run once a week.

I’ve just broken up for what will be a quiet and lonely summer and feel I’ll need the forums and running more than ever.

I enjoyed my run this morning and managed a comfy 25 minutes and would love over the next few weeks to hit my 5k but for me it’s more about the way running helps to keep my anxiety at bay.

So, I’m here to say I’m back. Happy running everyone.

Welcome back! I have periods of just one run a week. I'm back up to 2 runs a week again. Sometimes I manage 3. Your goal of 5km is a good one. It's achievable. Just lengthen one run a week. The rule of thumb is don't increase by more than 10% per week. So you'll also have to do a short run each week and you'll be amazed at how easy they are. You could try a Parkrun. You don't have to run the whole 5km, you could run 30 mins and walk or run-walk the remainder. Good luck 👍

Hi there! I too have recently graduated and am now working on building up my distance and pace. One thing that is motivating me is that I’ve signed up for a 5k race at the end of August (yikes... I can’t believe I’m saying that!!!) together with a couple of friends. This is giving me a goal to work towards; otherwise I too would probably be feeling a bit adrift after the structure of the C25K podcasts. I am actually still re-playing W9R3 every time I run, and just continuing to run for a few minutes after the 30 mins are up.

I originally started the running to help with weight loss but the biggest impact on me (like yourself) is that I seem to have become a calmer person, definitely less anxious and stressed! Whoopee!!! Long may that continue. All the best to you.
