Graduated with my 1st parkrun

So ... today I completed the Couch to 5K programme, using the Southwark Park parkrun as my final run. At the start of May, I hadn't run for about 15 years, so was a bit unsure how I might do, but as the weeks have passed my confidence has grown and I was eventually running 5K within C25K sessions. Today, I took a deep breath and joined over 300 other runners to run three-and-a-half laps of Southwark Park - delighted to finish in 26:26, and thanks to all the lovely volunteers for encouraging us along the way.

Thanks. Have added my name to the July thread (graduation is a theme this week - went to my daughter's graduation ceremony on Thursday!)

Congratulations on completing C25K with week 9 run 3 and graduating at Southwark Parkrun in a excellent sub 30 minute 5k time of 26.26, only about 10% of people graduate sub 30 minutes, well done. 😊 🏃 🎓

Well done on your first park run and I’m sure there will be plenty more coming. What a great result to some 30 minutes fantastic!

Holy God! You blew the doors off it today. You were only meant to go out at leave loads of room for an easy multi week PB streak.😀

Congratulations and very well done. It took me 2 years of post C25K running and interval training to get to your pace. I’m impressed, I’m sure you’ll soon be another parkrun addict.

Thanks for that. Already looking at the other Parkruns in SE London to see where else I can run.
