Bunged up nose... help please!

So I completed my 1st run of week 2 today and I’ve really been struggling with a bunged up nose while I’m running. I don’t think it’s pollen related as I’ve done a couple of my runs indoors on a treadmill. Does anyone have a similar problem and if so is there a way to stop it or do I just need to take loads of tissues with me? Thanks

Have you tried something like Vicks or Olbas Oil? Might help clear the nose

Me too. My nose is always clear until I start running. So yes a few tissues to blow it away 😊

I just take loads of tissues and curse when i forget them

It's called exercise-induced rhinitis, and it's a lot like allergic rhinitis -- also called hay fever or nasal allergies. For the unlucky people with EIR, as it's called, a good workout triggers allergy symptoms: congestion, sneezing, runny nose, itchiness, general misery, blow it or try a nasal spray!
