Getting there! Little help needed please!?

So 6 months ago I had a torn rotator cuff and plantar fasciitis in both feet, I hadn’t been able to exercise properly in months and was at an all time low. I honestly felt doomed! My mental health suffered and I was in a dark place. Following help getting better I’ve now just completed run 3 of week 6! I’m so proud of myself and what I’ve achieved so far, and dare I say it? I hasn’t been too difficult.

My knees are still hurting massively, they are fine when I run, it’s all the rest of the time they hurt. I can’t kneel down on the floor or squat anymore. I’d hate for this to stop me running 😢

I have a lot of weight to lose and am hoping that by running I will eventually tip the balance and start losing then my knees will start to improve? Am I being to optimistic???

I have had emotional eating problems for years and have dieted many years away. I have healed my relationship with food and my body and am wanting a more balanced healthy journey to losing weight. Any help or advice would be fantastic please everyone! 🙏🏼😘

well done for not giving up and keeping going. I apply an ice pack after my run into the knee that's aching and it seems fine. I've also bought a knee support and that has helped loads.

good luck with your continuing journey and very very well done xxxx

Well done for just doing it anyway!

Knee supports, icing and ibuprofen gel should help with the knee pain and as your legs get stronger and you lose weight, both should greatly reduce the strain on your joints and reduce or stop the pain.

It sounds like you’re really turning your life around. You should be very proud of yourself.

Keep going! 😊👏👍

Firstly, absolutely brilliant that you’ve got so far on this incredible journey! And if you need to slow down to help you continue - I love this slow running technique (I still run this way!)

m.youtube.com/watch?v=9L2b2... It’s low impact and may help with those knees!
